Taking place on the first Friday of every month from 5-9 PM, Friday Night Liberty is San Diego’s biggest FREE monthly art event! Meet working artists, enjoy dance, theater and music performances, visit museums and galleries and explore the growing District.

CAFE & SHOP | Mingei International Museum
is hosting the Grand Opening of Cafe Mingei and Shop Mingei in their new temporary home in the Dick Laub NTC Command Center after closing their Balboa Location for renovations. Location 2640 Historic Decatur Rd.
GRAND OPENING | DanzArtsSD
hosts a ribbon cutting ceremony and Ballet, Folkloric & Flamenco dance performances at 6:30 PM & 8 PM in Dorothea Laub Dance Place Studio 201 at 2650 Truxtun Rd.
DANCE & ART | San Diego Dance Theater
invites guests to see excerpts from Monica Barnes' & Terry Wilson's Trolley Dances and from ARTS DISTRICT commissioned Installation Dances. Performances at 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM in White Box Live Arts
in Building 176, second floor at 2590 Truxtun Rd.
ARTVENTURE | Experience something creative and learn about the inspiration behind the outdoor art Installations at the Station with San Diego Art Institute docents. Wander and explore the renovated historic Naval Barracks buildings and see featured works located all over ARTS DISTRICT marked by a blue star on the various maps around campus. 7 — 9 PM
CONCERT | Bill Dutton’s Rockin Jazz Band invites you to get up and dance with their 7 piece dance band playing Classic and Contemporary Hits, Latin-Salsa and the “swingingest” jazz favorites. Performing 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM at Barracks 16 Plaza.
DANCERS & DESSERT | Meet San Diego Ballet
’s new & returning dancers, chat with Artistic Director, Javier Velasco & up-and-coming choreographer, Matt Carney, and learn about the upcoming season 7 — 9 PM in Dorothea Laub Dance Place Building 175 at 2650 Truxtun Rd.
CELEBRATE | Martha Pace Swift Gallery
celebrates their 10th Anniversary show featuring contemporary works from 10 artists including Dan Adams, Larry Caveney, Ellen Dieter, Shahla Dorafshann, Michelle Josey, Kathleen Kane-Murrell, Philip Petrie, Pamela Underwood, James James E Watts, and Anna Zappoli in Building 201, second floor at 2820 Roosevelt Rd.
