Join the National Lawyers Guild, Black and Pink — San Diego
, local activists, & allies for our our holiday cards for LGBTQ prisoners event!
The holidays can be a challenging and lonely time when you’re in prison and away from loved ones, so we'll be decorating and sending holiday cards to some of our 250 incarcerated LGBTQ members in California. That's a lot of cards so we will need your help!
This will be one of three card-making parties happening across San Diego in conjunction with Black & Pink' s national effort of sending cards to ALL our 14,000 incarcerated members. The other parties are happening on Wednesday 11/28 at 6:45pm hosted by People Over Profits and Sunday 12/16 at 7PM hosted at a home in college area.
Please join us as we write cards together and talk about ongoing abolition efforts in San Diego and beyond.
We will have all the supplies you need to make your holiday cards as well as ways to get more involved in the local movement.
Lastly, if you're able, please bring a few dollars to help us cover postage & supplies. Any money raised beyond the cost of supplies will be used to support wages for formerly incarcerated members of Black & Pink, bail funds, re-entry support and other local & national Black & Pink funds.
Can't make it but still want to help? Check out our wish list online: http://a.co/hHiD2fx
