Find New Art for the New Year at Friday Night Liberty! Skate, create and celebrate 2019 with so much to see, shop and experience.

Taking place on the first Friday of every month from 5-9 PM, Friday Night Liberty is San Diego’s biggest FREE monthly art event! Meet working artists, enjoy dance, theater and music performances, visit museums and galleries and explore the growing District.

Friday Night Liberty — January 4 Highlights

ART | Blue Pearl Art opens her working artist studio to feature new original artwork and prints for the new year! 5 – 9 PM in Barracks 15.

ART | Lauren LeVieux Artist Studio opens her working artist studio for guests to come see some of her new original oil paintings. 5 – 9 PM in Barracks 16.

ART | June Rubin showcases Frida Frenzy, original watercolors and mixed media artworks depicting the many colorful sides of artist Frida Kahlo. 5 – 9 PM in Barracks 19, second floor.

ART | M Fischbeck Studio Gallery presents New Year – New art by Peggy Fischbeck, along with a new Community Art Project. See art, buy art, make art a part of your 2019 fun! 5 – 8:30 PM in Barracks 19, second floor.

SALE | Shop Mingei International Museum now open, offers a 10% discount off all purchases in store during Friday Night Liberty 5 – 8 PM in Building 200 – 2640 Historic Decatur Rd.

NEW EXHIBIT | Visions Art Museum showcases Playing with a Full Deck, an exhibit originally shown in 1995 featuring 56 artists that have redesigned the traditional playing deck each unique and demonstrating a wide range of individual talents. 5 – 8 PM in Building 202 – 2825 Dewey Rd.

NEW EXHIBIT | Visions Art Museum features Unknown Territory by Ving Simpson a collection of mixed media sculpture and wall hangings created using simple everyday materials to create works of art, presenting signs of age, patina, and symbolic significance. 5 – 8 PM in Building 202 – 2825 Dewey Rd.

NEW EXHIBIT | The San Diego Watercolor Society presents “Illuminating Rhythms” an art exhibition n juried by award-winning artist Thomas Schaller. Opening Reception with 95-100 original ready-to-hang paintings for sale, plus wine, food, and the fellowship of other art enthusiasts 5 – 8 PM in Building 202 – 2825 Dewey Rd.
